Aubrey as a Nutritional Therapist

So as a kid, my dream job was to be a teacher, and of course I never imagined I'd be teaching in the world of nutrition and health. Turns out my soul had a lovely little health journey plan to get me here! After years of trying to understand my own health frustrations and challenges, one of the practitioners I was seeing asked if I would consider coming to work with her. At the time I didn’t have any formal training, but she was asking because of the questions I was asking and the knowledge I'd gained through years of lived experience, self-correction, and the teachers I'd learned from. That conversation became the catalyst that inspired me to pursue formal training and turn a personal passion into something I can guide others on.

So ultimately, my own bumpy ride through frustrating health challenges led me to studying Nutritional Therapy, with extensive training in digestive and GI health, functional gut testing, and root-cause nutrition. Along the way, I've completed 200-hours of Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica, where I was introduced to Ayurveda, became a Reiki Master, and continued my studies in holistic herbalism with influences from both Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I've intentionally never studied the body in a silo because I don't believe healing happens in one lane. While functional nutrition is the foundation of my work, my approach is informed by yoga, Eastern frameworks, herbalism, and the understanding that digestion, the nervous system, stress, movement, and our internal environment are all deeply connected.

While I'm not one to make my health history part of my identity, I recognize it's part of what allows me to connect so deeply with the people I work with. For me, I had a little "health explosion" that took stage at 28, but it had actually been building and trying to get my attention for much of my early life. It didn't happen all at once, but crept up slowly with a symptom here, an antibiotic there, until the rain bucket was just too full.

Looking back, my body had been trying to get my attention for years. It started with countless cases of strep throat as a kid, a tonsillectomy in college, and a Stage 1 melanoma diagnosis at 22. Then came the mystery symptoms… recurring sinus + ear infections, low hormones + imbalances, recurring UTIs, anxiety, depression, and low-grade chronic inflammation. It always felt like there was something. Despite seeing countless practitioners and spending thousands of dollars trying to find answers, I never felt like anyone was meeting me at the “but, why”.

I eventually realized that another antibiotic or prescription wasn't getting to the root of anything but completely destroying my gut and prolonging my healing. That realization changed the trajectory of my life.

Today, I see my sensitivity as one of my greatest gifts. My body speaks loud and clear, and learning to listen instead of silence it completely changed my life. That ability to listen, honed through lived experience, professional training, and years on my yoga mat is central to my approach in nutritional therapy. I help clients understand the language of their own bodies through nutrition, functional gut testing, and personalized protocols that address the root of imbalances and restore homeostasis.

Before opening my nutrition practice, I spent 14 years consulting executive-level clients in enterprise advertising and marketing technology. My favorite part of that work was never sales…it was consulting. Understanding a business's goals, uncovering their pain points, asking thoughtful questions, analyzing data, recognizing patterns, and working collaboratively to solve complex problems.

As it turns out, that's exactly what I love about nutrition. Every client has a unique story, and there is never a one-size-fits-all answer. I bring that same curiosity, analytical thinking, and intuitive approach into helping people understand what their bodies have been trying to communicate all along.

**Ultimately, feeling good is our birthright. Just because something is common doesn't mean it's normal.**

I believe our bodies do not ever want to work against us. They can, however, struggle with poor digestion, detoxification, insufficient nutrient absorption, chronic stress, and an internal environment that becomes quite cozy for inflammation, toxin buildup, pathogens, opportunistic bacterial overgrowths, parasites, and heavy metals, making it challenging for them to do their incredible and innate job of regenerating and restoring themselves.

We have tremendous agency over changing our physical and mental health through food, nutrition, the right functional testing, and lifestyle adjustments. It's with my own lived experience, extensive training, and holistic nutrition practice that I hope to make functional nutrition, proper gut testing, thoughtful interpretation, and customized protocols more accessible!

When I'm not working with clients, you'll usually find me outside near the ocean or in nature, practicing yoga, hiking, dancing, being silly, playing tennis or pickleball, traveling, snorkeling, cooking nourishing meals, or spending time with family and friends. I feel most alive in nature and believe our health is deeply connected to how we move, eat, rest, connect, and experience the world around us.
